Beginning February 1st, 2025, Elon Musk–an unelected official from a foreign country–instituted a hostile takeover of the computer systems of the United States Treasury. He and 6 young men without security clearance, oversight, or credentials locked out legitimate career officials and gained access to taxpayer and sensitive financial information in the largest security breach in U.S. history. The systems involved store sensitive information—including SSN, address, and DOB for every American who has received income tax refunds or COVID stimulus checks, or has worked for the federal government. This is a blatantly illegal act, and an act of treason that puts the financial information of nearly every American in the hands of the world’s richest man.

In the months since, he and his team have continued to wreak havoc across the federal government. Under the pretext of finding fraud and promoting efficiency, Elon Musk has instead made the federal government almost comically inefficient, firing and re-hiring crucial federal workers, claiming to have found “savings” that are quickly debunked, and creating a hostile environment for civil servants to promote the rapid destruction of social security, medicaid, public health services, and other services widely supported by the American people. Meanwhile, he has quietly worked on securing new contracts under President Trump to enrich himself by billions.

Most egregiously, he has done all of this without any legal authority to do so. He has not undergone the legal confirmation process by which Congress maintains oversight of department heads. He and his team have gained illegal access to secured systems through force and intimidation. He has no security clearance allowing him access to the sensitive information he has been given. And as a foreign-born national, he is ineligible to hold the office of the presidency–yet he now seems to be running the U.S. government without a single vote from the American people.

Elon Musk bought the American presidency. It is now up to the people to bankrupt him, so that he can never do so again.
